Elle est compos\u00e9e de 3 couches successives s\u00e9par\u00e9es par des discontinuit\u00e9s :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>un\u00a0<strong>noyau<\/strong>\u00a0principalement constitu\u00e9 de fer et d\u2019un peu de nickel, d\u2019environ 3 480 kilom\u00e8tres de rayon. Sa temp\u00e9rature d\u00e9passe 5 000 \u00b0C. La partie externe est \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tat fondu, alors que la partie interne, appel\u00e9e \u00ab graine \u00bb, est solide ; elle a la taille de la Lune !<\/li>\n<li>un\u00a0<strong>manteau\u00a0<\/strong>riche en magn\u00e9sium, d\u2019environ 2 900 kilom\u00e8tres d\u2019\u00e9paisseur, anim\u00e9 de lents mouvements de convection qui le brassent en permanence. Il repr\u00e9sente plus de 80% du volume total de notre globe !<\/li>\n<li>une\u00a0<strong>\u00e9corce, ou cro\u00fbte<\/strong>, constitu\u00e9e pour l\u2019essentiel de roches volcaniques sous les oc\u00e9ans et de mat\u00e9riaux granitiques ou m\u00e9tamorphiques au sein des continents. L\u2019\u00e9paisseur de la cro\u00fbte continentale varie de 20 \u00e0 70 kilom\u00e8tres.
