Il s\u2019accumule au-dessus de la chemin\u00e9e sous forme d\u2019une galette de lave ou d\u2019un d\u00f4me. Ce bouchon, lorsqu\u2019il a refroidi, bloque le d\u00e9gazage et la pression des gaz augmente au sein m\u00eame du volcan. Lorsque la pression d\u00e9passe la r\u00e9sistance du bouchon, une violente explosion projette des cendres, des <a href=\"\/science\/reperes\/glossaire\/#1668609694206-fdde5179-1d9a1aa2-532d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">scories<\/a>, des bombes \u00e0 plusieurs kilom\u00e8tres de hauteur. Le d\u00e9gazage se poursuit, puis un nouveau bouchon se met en place dans le crat\u00e8re, et le cycle peut recommencer, tant que la source de magma n\u2019est pas tarie. Le type de relief form\u00e9 est un c\u00f4ne de faible altitude r\u00e9sultant principalement de l\u2019accumulation de cendres et de blocs. Les bombes en cro\u00fbte de pain sont assez caract\u00e9ristiques de ce dynamisme. Les coul\u00e9es y sont rares.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">On associe \u00e0 ce type d\u2019activit\u00e9 les explosions tr\u00e8s violentes qui g\u00e9n\u00e8rent un \u00e9norme <a href=\"\/science\/reperes\/glossaire\/#1668609239730-57e14047-e61c1aa2-532d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">panache<\/a> de cendres en forme de pin parasol. C\u2019est le V\u00e9suve qui a servi d\u2019exemple pour ce dynamisme, lors de sa fameuse \u00e9ruption de l\u2019an 79 ap. J.-C., qui d\u00e9truisit les villes romaines de Pomp\u00e9i et d\u2019Herculanum.
